Before Your Session

Before Your Session
Do This:

DO EAT: Please, please eat before your appointment. Even if you’re not feeling hungry. Eat. We don’t want you to pass out from low blood sugar because you were too excited or nervous to eat. We’ve seen it happen.

DO SLEEP: Please try to get a good night’s sleep the night before your appointment!

DO HYDRATE YOUR BODY: Drinking 32-64 oz. of water before your appointment will hydrate your body and your skin, which will help you get the best tattoo that you can. We’re in this together!

DO HYDRATE YOUR SKIN: Apply lotion to the area to be tattooed at least once per day for a few weeks before your appointment. The better hydrated your skin is, the easier your session will go.

DO SHAVE: If you have a lot of hair in the area to be tattooed, shave the area once a week for a few weeks prior to your appointment. Shaving and hydrating with lotion will make for a better tattoo.

DO CONSIDER PAIN MANAGEMENT: It is okay to take Tylenol or Advil for pain. Those are the only acceptable pills. Please do not self medicate or you will lose your appointment time and deposit.

DO PACK FOOD & DRINK: An all day tattoo session really depletes your body. Bring snacks, drinks, and/or lunch. You will need to replenish and refuel your energy during and after your appointment. We have a microwave and a mini fridge if you need them.

Don't Do This:

DON'T TAKE DRUGS AND/OR ALCOHOL IMMEDIATELY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT: DO NOT self medicate before your tattoo. DO NOT drink alcohol before your tattoo. It will not be tolerated in the shop. And we will know. Trust us.

You will be rescheduled and your deposit will be lost if you show up under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol!

DON'T PARTY THE DAY/NIGHT BEFORE: Don’t drink excessively the day before your appointment. Your tattoo will be so much harder for you to manage, and for us to apply, if you are hungover and your blood is thinned out from the alcohol.

DON'T COME IN IF YOU ARE SICK: Your appointment can be rescheduled. If you are feeling ill, have a pretty bad cold (we’re talking snot and sneezing), or definitely if you are throwing up like Linda Blair, let us know ASAP. Please don’t share the misery. We like staying happy and healthy.

DON'T COME IN IF YOU ARE BROKEN: If you break any bones, cut yourself, get a sunburn, use a tanning bed, use any kind of chemical peels (or get into any other kind of skin-iritating situation) on the area to be tattooed for one month prior to your appointment, please contact us immediately!

If you are a weight lifter: please do not lift extreme weight for 2 days before your appointment. You could experience more swelling and soreness after a heavy workout.

During Your Session

During Your Session
Do This:

DO STAY STILL: Moving your hands, arms, and head moves your entire body! Please try really hard not talk with your hands during your session. Let us know if you have to adjust/itch/sneeze/etc.

DO GET COMFORTABLE: Wear comfy clothes! Try to make sure it’s something that won’t ruin your life if some ink gets on it. Don't be afraid to bring a blanket and a pillow. It can get cold in our shop and a pillow can be a nice cushion for your butt or head depending on the position we need to put you in. Have extra socks, shower shoes, or flip flops too. If you like to take your shoes off, we prefer you have easy footwear to slip on if you need a bathroom break.

DO HAVE A BUDDY: It’s okay to bring someone with you to chit-chat with and for moral support, but keep your entourage limited to one person.

DO ENJOY SOME ENTERTAINMENT: We have a DVD player in the tattoo area. Feel free to bring things to watch during your session.

Don't Do This:

DON'T TOUCH YOUR TATTOO: It might be tempting, because it looks so beautiful and shiny, but doing so is a big risk of infection. And trust us, you don’t want your brand new tattoo to get infected.

DON'T TOUCH OTHER STUFF: Please don’t touch anything that isn’t yours in the tattoo area! We are very serious about hygiene and sanitizing the shop for your safety and ours. We need to be very careful not to cross-contaminate!

As we all used to (and let’s be honest, we still do) love to say: Look with your eyes, not with your hands!

DON'T BRING CHILDREN: They will get bored (and more than likely touch everything in sight), and we can’t keep a watchful eye on them while your tattoo is being applied.

DON'T BRING A CROWD: Any extra people that are with you must stay in the waiting room (boring...) while your tattoo is in progress.
